About Grandma
Grandma’s Attic started as a hobby for me. I started collecting vintage in 1995. As my children grew, so did my collection of vintage. All those wonderful things stayed packed away until 2000. A dear friend asked me if I would consider selling my vintage at her newly opened antique shop. I really wondered who was going to buy vintage since I thought it was only for collectors. Surely, people didn’t wear vintage, or did they?
In September of 2000 Park Place Antiques and Gifts in San Antonio, Florida, opened their doors. I started with about two dozen pieces of clothing, a dozen or so purses and hats, and a small assortment of gloves and other accessories. I am now in three different locations in Florida. My personal collection is in San Antonio, Annetta’s Attic in Dade City, and Traditions Antique Mall in Wildwood.
Today, Grandma’s Attic has grown to over 10,000 pieces of clothing, including purses, shoes, gloves, and numerous accessories. I pride myself on having one-of-a-kind items. I do not carry reproductions and strive to keep clothing from every era. I have clothing from 1890 through 1980. I also have a full line of vintage wedding gowns. I currently have about 82 antique and vintage wedding gowns.
I also offer my vintage through Vintage Fashion Shows. I show clothing from every era with a full narration of what happened during the times to influence the clothing styles. The best part of having a fashion show is seeing the reaction of people and bringing special memories to them.
